Thank you for including the importance of creativity and adaptability in gardening! Nature doesn’t follow structured rules and we don’t have to either. Observation and staying in tune with nature are both important gardening skills. The garden looks beautiful in its abundance and diversity. Thank you (and Sam!) for sharing your experiences and humor. Love this new format that feels more personal, informative, and relaxed!

Really enjoying the return of garden diaries and as a newbie to substack think it's such an improvement on you tube! I've managed to double my allotment space for next year so keenly watching for inspiration.

Lovely catch up in the garden again. Poor Sam left out in the rain lol. Loving the garden diaries. Somehow it is a better more wholesome experience watching you on Substack as opposed to YT unsure why... PS I need to see that giant courgette to believe it 😜

Hi Huw, I always love Huw's Diaries. Will your talk "Permaculture: The Art of Hope" be recorded and available to view in future for those who can't attend by any chance? Thanks!

Such a wonderful episode Huw - it’s always so inspiring to accompany you on your stroll through your garden & to take delight in the small things that you share ie. the wedged hotbed squash, the carrot harvesting tip you’d seen on social media and not to mention your love of fresh peas picked straight from the garden - there’s just nothing better 🫛🤗

Another great episode. Wish I could go to the festival, but sadly I have to be in London

Great content and fabulous garden. I wish I were able to make it to your event on the 28th but alas school starts on the 16th and it's back to work. Btw, I have ordered the Fermentation book and can't wait for it to arrive. All the best to you and your staff.

Love your garden diaries! They are so much more spontaneous and casual. And still a lot to learn from and be inspired. A joy to follow.

Loving the series, specially as I’m leaning into perennials and permaculture to balance my garden in Wales.

I’m Japanese and we eat Shiso very finely chopped with rice, and all types of grain salads. Try a quinoa salad, or maybe for preserving I wonder if Shiso could be used in vinegars to flavour?

Would love to hear Sam’s experiments with Shiso!

It is absolutely brilliant to have your diaries back on social media [lightning strikes]. Disappointed that there's no Bridge troll. Will you be advertising for one? Thanks again for a great video and good luck on your talk in about 2 weeks' time.

Huw did I already leave a comment about Sissinghurst having an amazing no dig veg garden? Also, do you know the Small Holding guys in Kilndown who offer a tour of their no dig veg garden as part of their taster menu? Two more to consider while you’re down this way!
